Dear Kevin
Just a quick note to tell you that I picked on the right Archivist and she let me have the original of the first Taunton register and I found Edward!. I enclose a P.C. You may have difficulty in believing that it is Edward but it was much easier to read in the original although faded from damp. You will see he is the son of John Purse. I ignored this surname at first but as I continued I found it was indeed a version of Percy. I will write more fully next week.
las week my daughter was married from our house, this entailed a great deal of hard work on our part and now we are off for a few days holiday.
I have found the Percies owned land down here from C12, will tell you all about it anon.
